Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities regarding the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Newcastle Upon Tyne, you must be at least 21 years old, though some vehicle types may have different age requirements. A valid driving licence suited to the vehicle category is necessary, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also required. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Newcastle Upon Tyne office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. 4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of the rental vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, and other dangerous driving behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting or allowing unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly against policy. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not intended for, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside agreed geographical limits requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Newcastle Upon Tyne will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in this jurisdiction.
